Special Police Unit For Children
Juvenile Justice Unit (JJU) in Special Police Unit for Women and Children (SPUWAC) was set up under Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act-2005 after the order of Juvenile Justice Committee of Delhi High Court in Writ Petition (Crl.) No. 2069/2005 titled "Bachpan Bachao Andolan Vs Union of India". National Commission for Protection of Child Right (NCPCR) was made Nodal Agency to look after and review the working of States in the matter of Juvenile in Conflict with Law (JICL) and Children in Need Care & Protection (CNCP) in the Writ, whereas SPUWAC was designated Nodal Agency by NCPCR for UT Delhi to look into the matter of both the category of Juvenile.
