Rape

What is a Rape?

  1. Are you being forced to have sex without your consent?
  2. Did you give your consent based on false promises?
  3. Are you less than 16 years of age and another is having sexual relation with you?
  4. Are you being misguided to have sex with a stranger because it is a social or religious punishment that you deserve due to some misconception by some powerful guru or god man?
  5. Are you being force to have sex because you are now part of a social or peer group?
  6. Are you being forced into sexual contact with a promise to some sort of favour in return?
  7. If you have answered yes to any of the above, you are a victim of rape.

What can you do?

You can seek help from police as it is a criminal offence punishable in law under section 376 IPC by giving a written complaint to nearest Police Station or calling '100' or '1091' for immediate help.

The Law can help you fight for your rights:

  1. A case under Section 376 IPC can be registered and culprit apprehended. Your identity will be kept a secret and all possible assistance and medical help will be given by Crisis Intervention Centres.

How can we help you?

The police is equipped and trained to keep the emotional sanctity of a rape victim. Social and psychological support is kept in mind by the police while providing help to rape victims. Police will investigate and prosecute the guilty.
